1994 Kevin and Mare Wachs took the Federal relief money they received after the Northridge earthquake to start Earthly Body with a mission to create quality, all-natural skin care products made with no harmful ingredients such as: dyes, petroleum, parabens, or sulfates. They began to make, distribute, and ship these products out of their home garage.

1996 Hemp Seed Products were born. Hemp Seed personal care products are made with the finest and most natural ingredients possible and is considered one of the preeminent manufacturers of hemp-based personal care products.

2007 Earthly Body signed a statement of assurance and made a pledge with PETA that their facilities and suppliers do not test on animals. Since then, cruelty free becomes one of the most important principles all Earthly Body associated brands and business follow till this day.

2007 That same year, Kevin and Mare Wachs also started the Get Together Foundation, a volunteer-run, non-profit organization whose mission is to act as the bridge between donor and charity to ensure that 100% of donations received are provided to the intended cause.

2008 Earthly Body launches Marrakesh Hair Care, an organic, natural line of products that uses exotic ingredients from around the world, including Argan Oil, imported from women-led cooperatives in Morocco. These these cop-ops not only produce sustainable Argan Oil, but also help to empower the country’s female work force.

2012 In a further commitment to producing 100% vegan products that use no animal ingredients and working with suppliers that do not test on animals, Earthly Body made a secondary pledge to the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics and became Leaping Bunny certified.

2013 Earthly Body moved into a 50,000 sq ft building in Chatsworth,CA that today serves as their manufacturing and bottling facility, shipping warehouse, offices, and educational facility. This building is a testament to the commitment that the Wachs family & Earthly Body team has to our planet’s sustainability. They have taken the steps needed to ensure that all aspects of their organization reflect eco-friendly values, such as installing solar panels and electric car charging stations.

2015 Earthly Body launches colorpHlex, the first of its kind, #1 Professional Hair Reparative System derived from natural vegetable proteins.

TODAY What started out as a small family business has now grown into an internationally-respected skin and hair care manufacturer that believes in bettering our environment and bringing our community together. From creating an eco-friendly work environment to orchestrating charitable community events and traveling around the world visiting our retailers and factories.
